Trump’s budget is a Stealth Health-Care Bill. And it Would Make Americans Sick.

Gentle Reader –

Doctor Homer wrote this almost three years ago, yet it remains important today. While the Republicans attempt to whitewash Trump’s  crimes, and while we watch this in mixed horror and disbelief, behind the scenes the same people are attempting to further degrade our minimal safety net. The Republicans ar attempting to remove protections for those with pre-existing conditions.

From Charles J. Homer, MD. March 21, 2017. Washington Post

“…Poverty causes poor health. The poorest men in America die 15 years earlier than the wealthiest; the poorest women die 11 years younger than the most affluent women. Despite frequent statements to the contrary, America’s safety net programs reduce poverty…”

“…Greater public social spending, not less, results in more babies reaching their first birthdays and more grandparents attending their grandchildren’s weddings…”
